Roberts Concrete Pumping is a family-run business from Cheshire. We supply the liquid screed, pump it into place and level it, so you deal with one team from start to finish. We cover St Helens and the rest of Merseyside, along with Cheshire, Greater Manchester and the Wales border.
Liquid screed is a free-flowing mix that is pumped onto the floor and settles level. Pumped liquid screed suits extensions, new builds, renovations and underfloor heating floors, and because it goes in through hoses it copes well with tight access and floors a long way from the road.
Most people get in touch after a builder, heating engineer or supplier points them our way. Their worries are usually the same: is the floor ready, will the pour fit around everyone else, and will it go in cleanly on the day. We give straight answers on all three, with no last-minute surprises.

Where it's used
Ground and upper floors in new houses, poured once the building is weathertight and the floor build-up is in place.
Kitchen, dining and garden room extensions, where the new floor needs to finish level with the existing house.
Liquid screed flows around UFH pipes and fully encases them, which helps the heat spread evenly across the floor.
Older homes where floors are being dug out, insulated and relaid as part of a wider refurbishment.
Builders and site teams who need the screed to fit around other trades and the programme, from a single plot to several.

St Helens is a borough that is building. The Local Plan sets a minimum of 486 new homes a year to 2037, and several large sites are moving forward: around 3,000 homes planned at Bold Forest Garden Village, 514 approved at Gartons Lane in Bold, 445 approved south of Florida Farm in Haydock and Blackbrook, and the former industrial land at Moss Nook between Sutton, Parr and Bold, with potential for up to 900 homes.
Alongside the new estates, there is a steady flow of smaller work: rear extensions on semis in Eccleston and Rainhill, renovations of older terraces closer to the town centre, and self-builds out towards Rainford and Billinge. Plenty of these jobs have no driveway or rear access for a mixer, which is where pumped liquid screed helps, as the hose can run through a side passage or the house to reach the floor.
St Helens sits between the M6 at Haydock and the M62 to the south, so it is a straightforward run up from our base in Cheshire. We do not have an office in St Helens; we travel to each job and plan the day around your site.
How it works
Tell us about the floor: your postcode, what the floor is for, rough size in m2, whether there is underfloor heating and when you want it done.
We confirm the floor is ready for liquid screed, from insulation and edging to the membrane and any UFH pipework.
The liquid screed is pumped into place and levelled. We coordinate timing with you and any other trades on site.
The floor is left to set and dry, and we talk you through drying and what happens next before flooring goes down.
Before pour day
If another approach would suit your floor better, we'll tell you early.
Why Roberts
You deal with the people who run the business and do the work.
We also run concrete line pumps and boom pumps, so getting screed to awkward spots is everyday work for us.
We confirm area, access, preparation, UFH and timing first, so pour day goes to plan.
We work for homeowners, builders and site teams, and pitch the job to suit each.
Questions
Yes. We cover the town and the wider borough, from Rainford and Billinge in the north to Rainhill, Bold and Clock Face in the south, and across to Haydock and Newton-le-Willows. If you are just outside, ask anyway.
Liquid floor screed is a free-flowing mix that is pumped onto insulation or a concrete slab and finds its own level, giving a flat base for your final floor. It is laid quickly over large areas and fully surrounds underfloor heating pipes.
Often, yes. The liquid screed goes in through hoses, so it can reach a floor at the back of a house or a fair distance from where the vehicle parks. We check access with you before booking so there are no surprises on the day.
Each job is priced on the floor area, the depth needed, access and whether there is underfloor heating. Send us those details by phone or WhatsApp and we will give you a clear quote.
We supply and install. We do not offer equipment-only hire without an operator, because the pour and the levelling are part of getting the floor right.
Get in touch once you know roughly when the shell will be weathertight and the floor build-up done. Booking ahead makes it easier to fit the pour around your builder and the rest of the programme.
